For all of you out there who are travelling this Christmas I suggest you take the time to download the SMALLTOWN DJs BEST:09 MIX to bump in your WeSC headphones while traversing your universe. It will also serve as a wonderful backdrop for your festive entertaining!
Don’t forget WeSC is hosting these fine gents at Fortune Sound Club in Vancouver in January! Details here. Track listing after the gap….

Our friend Douglas Haddow breaks it down for you pretty well.
We are a defeated generation, resigned to the hypocrisy of those before us, who once sang songs of rebellion and now sell them back to us.

Mr Lee’s General Store from Salazar on Vimeo.
Mr. Lee’s has a curated selection of accessories, clothing and accompaniments that we feel are noteworthy, rare and purposeful, and above all else special. In addition to this we carry a template of product that was sold by general stores of the 1930’s & 40’s: specialty foods, hard goods, apothecary, magazines, fine paper products, flowers and notions. A one-stop shop to heal all your hankerings and make life a little sweeter.
Guys treat yourself at this great new shoppe, and ladies head on down to get your Christmas shopping done for the classy man in your life.
Incase you haven’t seen it, the creative geniuses behind Stepchild Snowboards have brought back Blunt Magazine from the grave, and given it a new lease on life as BLUNTer
For a good time go over to http://www.stepchildsnowboards.com/v2/blunter/ and give it a read.
I was put up onto this band by the lovely Juliana Moore during the summer and their album “Up From Below” has been on a pretty steady spin cycle since. They had a show Tuesday night at the Biltmore and I made sure to snap up tickets before the inevitably sold out. I personally hate to try to label or describe a bands sound, so your best bet is to just give them a try on their Myspace.

Their song “Home” could be top on my songs of the year list…
